All our Solist Snares feature the Trixon Hamburg German Snare String/Lock System. It provides the most secure and constant tension on snare strings than any other Snare Drum. Play your snare until your sticks are whittled down to toothpicks it won’t matter. You’ll never have to stop to reclaim snare strings with the Trixon Snare String/Lock System. Maple Shells with oversized shell thickness are the first Hamburg Basic Design. Karl-Heinz Weimer believed as a drum aged or ripened the stability of the structure was important to realize the full gain from the aging wood. Since sound is created from the drum shell through the tension on the shell itself the oversized Maple Shell always makes sure the tension is upheld. To get rid of any unwanted overtones the Solist Snare features an anti-vibration system that is designed from the snare hoops down to the lugs and washers all engineered to eliminate any unwanted vibrations. The Solist Snare and the Hamburg Drumset gets their name because they use the original Trixon Hamburg designs. The Snare drum is perfect in construction and what makes it unique is its powerhouse projection like that of famous American Snare Drums combined with Sustaining lyrical tone like that of European Snare Drums a player can express himself not only in volume but melody. Our shell hardware uses Low Mass Multi-Point Cylinder Lug Technology™. This technology allows for a single cylinder lug attached to the absolute middle of the drum shell to be anchored into the shell by multiple attachment points. The natural physics of our low mass cylinders direct tensioned-energy equally into the multiple mounting points on the lug. The arrangement of this hardware in relation to the shell minimizes the amount of metal-through-wood contact and maximizes sound producing area. Multiple point anchors assure equal drum head tension throughout the snare. Each shell layer is pure Eastern Yellow Birch. The layers are laminated using high PSI steam and low glue volume for a melodic and rich sound. Trixon Yellow Birch Shells feature a a trademark secret blend of glue that reduces the volume needed in it’s laminate shells therefore increasing the amount of wood available for producing sound.
