European Flavor – 14 Accordion Solos On European Melodies
This collection of 14 original waltzes, tangos and dances for piano accordion is representative of the many sights and sounds of Europe. Each song has its own story to tell. “A Little Town Called Mulhausen” was written in honor of the proprietor of a small café in Germany. Similarly, all of the other songs are about places the composer visited and things he and his family did while visiting Europe.
About the Author:
Inspired by Myron Floren on the Lawrence Welk Show, I began playing the accordion at the age of six and distinctly remember my father enforcing my half hour practice sessions because the lessons cost $2.50 a week. My studies continued throughout my high school education. Playing my way through college, I graduated with a B.S. in Secondary Education/Earth Space Science in 1976 from the University of Pittsburgh. Currently a science teacher, I continue to be an active accordionist playing for many exclusive private and public functions, as well as entertaining the elderly in assisted living homes. I have always enjoyed writing and playing originals and am currently working on another collection based upon a recent trip to Europe.
